I'm back to hat making. This time I'm attempting to make a bowler hat. To make the rounded top of a bowler, you need to have a hat form--a sized head shaped form of some kind on which to shape the buckram material. Traditional hat forms are made of carved wood, but they are expensive and bulky (you need one for every sized head and shape). My hat-making instructor recommended carving hat forms out of styrofoam. It works, but it is a messy pain. So, first step done. Now I need to attempt the actual hat.
