Just this week I finished and sent off a short story written for a new card game that will be released next month, Conquest at Kismet. My friend Jay developed the game. He asked some writers to create stories around the world presented in the game. I jumped at the opportunity.
Set in the far future in a different galaxy, the game pits two races of humans together. The Trice are technologically advance while the Storm are military geniuses. I wrote a story about a fighter pilot for the Storm called Seventeen Gam Theta.
I haven't written science fiction before, but had a blast developing the world. (Discussing, at length, with my boyfriend how gravity could work on spaceships.)
I'm not sure what's going to happen next, but I wouldn't mind revisiting that universe in writing again.
