I'm still waiting for MP to get posted to Google books and to the iBooks store. I'm going to blame the wait on Mercury retrograde since I couldn't get a hold of a live person at either of those companies if I tried all day. So, hopefully, the last two hold outs will make my book available soon. Then, phase II of the marketing roll-out will begin.
Thank you to everyone for showing your support for the release of Moving Pictures. And a very big special thanks to those of you who bought it.

Moving Pictures is officially released. Released into the wild, if you will.
My feeling about it, besides heaping amounts of fear, is that I took a small, infant thing, raised it by hand, taught it to be itself, and am now setting it back on its own into the wide world. I'll miss the little sucker, but I take comfort in the knowledge that it is out in the world where it's supposed to be. Sure, I'll help it along where I can. Hover not-so-far away to make sure it doesn't founder, but, in reality, it has to stand on its own from here on out. Good luck little book. Do your best! Moving Pictures is successfully loaded and available on Amazon.com and BN.com. However, Google books says that the uploaded book is being "processed" (and that it could take up to two months!!! to do it). Trying to load the epub file to Lulu so that MP can be available on iTunes and Kobo, but every time I try to load the file (which was successfully loaded to BN), I get an error message saying that it isn't BN compatible. *sigh* And everything seemed to be going so smoothly over the weekend!
I think I'll blame the problems on Mercury retrograde--when communications are compromised, including the things by which we communicate--which is happening right now. I've decided to officially launch on Thursday, Mercury retrograde or not. (Actually, available on Google or iTunes or not.) So Moving Pictures is almost ready to go. I've sent out the epub and mobi versions to friends to test how it looks on different ereaders. Mostly the feedback is good, but there are a few quirks to fix. Still hoping to launch this weekend.
Astrologically speaking, this week there is a 'grand trine' -- three planets lining up in a big triangle across the sky. It is a positive alignment and, as Jupiter is anchoring the trine, is good for travel and publishing.
If there are two things prevalent in my life right now, they are traveling and publishing. This week I am at a business conference in Phoenix and I just booked tickets for a big trip in May. As for publishing? This conference is all about promoting our publications for the captive insurance industry. Not to mention that I'm ear deep in putting together this month's journal and our annual directory. As for my personal publishing project, this is it. This week I will be making Moving Pictures available for sale. At least, that is the plan. I'm having trouble getting the book set-up in epub format, but I should be able to fix the quirks fairly quickly. A couple of steps after that and Moving Pictures will be ready to go. I'm glad that the astrological forecast is positive this week. It gives me a boost of confidence. However, I'm launching the book this week, regardless of the stars. It's just time. |
